Farhan replaces Akshay for ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’!

Farhan Akhtar is multi-talented. He starts his journey as a filmmaker, and after he turns to script writer, actor, playback singer, lyricist, film producer, and television host. His directorial debut Dil Chahta Hai (2001), was highly praised. He made his acting debut with Rock On!.

It looks like Farhan Akhtar is taking his role as an actor very seriously. especially after the huge success of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

We now hear that Range De Basanti Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for his upcoming film Bhaag Mikha Bhaag, a biopic on India’s ace athlete Mikha Singh have approached Farhan Akhtar.

Earlier this film was supposed to go on floors with Akshay Kumar as the athlete himself preferred our Khiladi to play his character as he considered him to be a Punjabi da puttar and can also act well and pull it of as a Singh (remember Singh is King).

In fact after the association of Rakeysh with Abhishek Bachchan in Delhi 6, there were also reports that he would play Mikha Singh in this film. But now we hear that Farhan Akhtar who has not been doing any film outside his Home Production banner has given a nod to do this challenging role of an athlete.

Reports also suggest that Rakeysh who wanted to do this film in 2009, after the India International Film Awards held in Toronto this year, has decided to do this film in more than one language. He said in an interview, "Perhaps the spoken language will be one, and that would be what Milka speaks in real life, Punjabi, Hindi or English. But I'd like to make the film for a global audience."

Sources say that Rakeysh has signed on Prasoon Joshi as the lyricist of the film, while the story will trace the life of Milkha Singh from his childhood days, which he has spent in Pakistan.

Though official confirmation has not been given, lets wit to see what this news develops in to.
